Album Notes
The original British vinyl configuration of this album had an extraordinary gimmick--side two consisted of two concentric spirals, and which one played was dependent on where your needle happened to land. The American version of this album and all subsequent reissues deleted one of these two spirals, which means that the material on "side 3" of this CD is unfamiliar to all but the most diehard Monty Python fans.
More importantly, MATCHING TIE AND HANDKERCHIEF is probably the best of Monty Python's original albums, containing more original material than any of their other LPs, and featuring some hysterical work, like the sports parody "Novel Writing" and the inspired silliness of "Wasp Club/Tiger Talk." Essential for all Monty Python fans.
