This is part of "Martin Scorsese Presents The Blues" series. The musical companion to Martin Scorsese's PBS special, MARTIN SCORSESE PRESENTS THE BLUES: JIMI HENDRIX, this 10-track compilation offers a primer on one of rock's all-time greats. Each cut features Hendrix at his blues-infused best, with tracks like "Red House" and "Voodoo Child" dripping with the artist's trademark psychedelia, while standards like "Come On (Let the Good Times Roll)" show him in an old-school mode. The set should be of interest to Hendrix collectors as well, given the inclusion of two previously unreleased tracks: "Georgia Blues" (featuring saxophonist Lonnie Youngblood, with whom Hendrix played early in his career) and "Blue Window." Guest personnel include Steve Winwood, Stephen Stills, Buddy Miles, Billy Cox, and the Experience.
