Album Notes Deep Forest: Michel Sanchez (accordion, piano, keyboards); Eric Mouquet (keyboards, vocoder, zendrum). Additional personnel: Monique Rasoarina, Gabrielle Raharimalala, Gino Ceccarelli (vocals); Paolo Damanti (keyboards); Didier Cresson (bass); Neil Conti (drums); Fred Savinien-Caprais (percussion). Recorded live at Koseinenkin Hall, Tokyo, Japan on July 9, 1998. LIVE IN JAPAN is the first non-studio album by Deep Forest, a group that was created by French keyboardists/programmers Eric Mouquet and Michel Sanchez. The group, which fuses ethnic melodies and programmed rhythms, has been hugely influential in the world scene since its 1993 hit "Sweet Lullaby." Recorded live in Tokyo, Japan in July, 1998, LIVE IN JAPAN is filled with remarkable performances of numerous Deep Forest cuts. Though replicating those songs in a live setting with vocals, complex rhythms, and futuristic sonic wizardry might seem nearly impossible, Mouquet and Sanchez pull it off to perfection. Some of the noteworthy songs included on LIVE IN JAPAN are "Ekue Ekue," "Green and Blue," and "Freedom Cry."
