The full-length debut from Buffalo, New York, outfit Damiera delivers on the band's hard-hitting, emo-tinged indie rock. Full of churning guitars and expressive vocals, M(US)IC is an engaging listen back to front, not least because of the technical agility of the band, who mix mainstream muscle with experimental flourishes that borrow from post-punk and post-hardcore. Yet M(US)IC is remarkably accessible, offering an experience that should appeal to punkers, emo kids, and arty rockers equally.
