Details

Synopsis Two formerly-conjoined twins, Bunny (the brains) and Blair (the brawn), are flung out of the Albion House Institution and into the wide world of London. Meanwhile, somewhere in the Caucasus in the miserable village of Ublilsk, the buxom Ludmila dreams of a life amid the wonders of the West. When she signs up online to be a mail-order bride, Ludmila catches the eye of the sex-hungry Blair, instigating an inexorable collision of their disparate (and desperate) lives. With the same vitriolic vigor and linguistic audacity that propelled VERNON GOD LITTLE to win the Man Booker, DBC Pierre (unmasked by The Guardian as Peter Warren Finlay, an Australian ne'er-do-well with a history of drug abuse and outstanding debts) has returned with a grandiose and bawdy satire.

Industry Reviews "With a mix of offbeat composition and intoxicating insight, Pierre's dystopian work is in a genus all its own; he succeeds in shocking his audience with this maddeningly entertaining encore." (03/20/2006)
