Album Notes
On LOVERS PRAYERS, its second full-length album for the Polyvinyl label, the long-running Brooklyn-based band Ida offers up another album of gentle indie-pop tunes. Led by husband/wife singer/guitarists Daniel Littleton and Elizabeth Mitchell, the group breezes through dreamy, harmony-laden songs (see "The Love Below," one of Ida's most pleasantly drifting and atmospheric moments), often nodding to a notable folk influence, as heard on the pastoral "Willow Tree" and the delicate "Kora," among others. While Littleton, Mitchell, and company are occasionally known to plug in and rock out, PRAYERS largely stays in a hushed, meditative vein, making it the perfect record for a quiet Sunday morning.
