On his sophomore effort, acclaimed R&B singer/songwriter The-Dream (known for his 2007 hit single, "Shawty is a 10," as well as for co-writing Rihanna's "Umbrella") balances suave seduction with love-struck earnestness over 14 hot tracks. With production from longtime collaborators Chris "Tricky" Stewart and LOS Da Mystro, LOVE VS. MONEY sees Dream experimenting with spacey Prince-inspired pop alongside Kayne on "Walkin' on the Moon" and delving into stripclub raunch with Lil Jon on "Let Me See the Booty." Mariah Carey is also featured on the sensitive duet, "My Love."

On the album-ending 'Nothing but Love,' Dream channels the spirit of Sam Cooke....With LOVE VS. MONEY, it's clear that The-Dream has crafted a definite winner.
3.5 stars out of 5 -- [C]heck how 'Love Vs. Money: Part 2' layers and sequences two orchestral textures, electronica noises, a harmonizing chorus and a homey chant and an occasional yelp, and who knows how many drum and bass elements.
