Movie Description A triptych of loosely interwoven love stories, LOVE SONGS's theme is the resuscitation of faded love. Braugher's piece of the trilogy, "A Love Song for Dad," stars Gossett as a frustrated father whose son has bought in to the violence of the street, and who attempts to teach him that violence is not the answer. Gossett's segment, "A Love Song for Champ," stars Townsend as a boxer trying to make some fast cash to alleviate his money troubles. Finally, Townsend's story, "A Love Song for Jean and Ellis," stars Whitfield and Braugher as the title characters, a beautiful woman and a simple fruit vendor, respectively, who are surprised when they find that love can overcome appearances.
