Movie Description A sophisticated comedy starring Redford as an assistant district attorney who teams up with an eccentric lawyer played by Winger, to defend a girl accused of theft. While gathering evidence throughout Manhattan they get drawn into New York's glittering art world and seedy underworld, targeted for murder by a cutthroat killer.
Film Notes DVD Features:
Region 0 Encoding
Shot in New York City in Technicolor, using Panavision equipment.
The film concerns the high-finance world of New York's classier art galleries. Much of the art work that appears in the film is real, and includes pieces by Picasso, Miro, Warhol, deKooning, Dubuffet, and Calder. The associate producer, Arnold Glimcher, was the owner of a New York art gallery before he produced the film. He later went on to direct "The Mambo Kings" (1992).
Chelsea Deardon's performance art piece was conceived by Daryl Hannah, Arnold Glimcher, and Lin Hixon.
Pyrotechnics in the arson and fire scenes were provided by Boss Film.
Shot on location in New York City with an estimated budget of $38 million.

Industry Reviews "...[Winger] demonstrates...that she's one of her generation's few first-rate screen comediennes....A lighthearted mystery-thriller..." New York Times - Vincent Canby (06/18/1986)
"...[The] roles represent a refreshing departure for Winger in a strong, self-assured part and a perfect choice for Redford playing Redford..." Variety - Brit. (06/18/1986)
