Levert has a proven track record, both as a solo artist and with his group Levert. Keith Sweat has made his mark both as a performer and as a producer. Johnny Gill first found stardom at 16 with the legendary New Edition, parlaying that group's success into a stellar solo career. At home on either side of the mixing desk, they were able to take complete control of the project, as performers, producers and as writers. This is not to say they didn't enlist some fellow superstars to contribute--guest producers include Sean "Puffy" Combs ("You Got Me," which features rap group The Lox) and Jermaine Dupri ("Where Did I Go Wrong"). LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes, and MC Lyte appear on "Curious," and "All The Times" features the talents of Faith Evans and Missy Elliot, but the lighthearted "Door #1" is all LSG, turning the playful competition between the trio of hitmakers into a mock game show, and rounding out LEVERT-SWEAT-GILL as an R&B masterpiece which successfully covers the whole emotional spectrum.
Industry Reviews ...At times the trio have to work at not outsinging one another; but the simmering vocal competition in LSG makes for some awesome ad-libs... Vibe (02/01/1998)
