Synopsis
Fitzgerald's last novel was left unfinished at his death, but the ending has been pieced together from his extensive notes. THE LAST TYCOON is an indictment of Hollywood, the film industry, and the American obsession with success at any cost--a savage expose of the studio system in its heyday. Fitzgerald wrote the novel from his own experience working as a screenwriter in Hollywood, a career at which he was spectacularly unsuccessful.
