With a level of adventurousness and innovation often absent in their peers, Wisin Y Yandel rose to the top of the reggaeton universe. On 2008's LA MENTE MIESTRA, the pair introduce DJ Nesty, a turntablist whose lush style recalls flashy 1990s techno delivered with `80s melodic freestyle sensibility (and just a hint of arching synth-pop and truly throwback Puerto Rican horn flourishes). The styles mesh well on a collaboration that astonishingly discovers new musical ground.
