Industry Reviews Gr 6 Up Much of the material in this reorganized third edition has been rewritten to include the new treatments, research findings, and statistics. It covers the basics history, what the disease is, how it's spread, how it can be prevented, and the need for compassion for the victims. The text is easy to read, but conveys a greater urgency than previous editions. The undistinguished black-and-white illustrations remain the same. There is new information on camps and support groups and a longer reading list and index. This title updates Alvin and Virginia Silverstein's Learning About AIDS (Enslow, 1989; o.p.) and Ethan A. Lerner's Understanding AIDS (Lerner, 1987; o.p.). Martha Gordon, formerly at South Salem Library, NY Lopate
