Slick, contemporary Nashville gospel pop (more aural sheen than Oral Roberts), but nonetheless sung with all the fervor and conviction that Glen Campbell can muster, which is a lot. (Fans of his guitar playing, however, will have to content themselves with his one acoustic solo on "The Boy in Me.") Anne Murray turns up as a duet partner on "Show Me the Way" (somewhat disconcertingly, her vocal line is pitched lower than his), and various overdubbed Campbells give the infectiously chirpy "Turn on the Radio" a sort of early '80s L.A. pop sound, rather like Christopher Cross fronting the Doobie Brothers. Fans of a more traditional sound will doubtless gravitate towards "No More Night," the only track to feature a grand, soaring gospel choir.
