IT'S TIME is a digitally remastered recording featuring six tracks by alto sax jazz be bop legend Jackie McLean, including "Cancellation," "Das' Dat," and "Truth."
Personnel: Jackie McLean (alto saxophone); Charles Tolliver (trumpet); Herbie Hancock (piano); Cecil McBee (upright bass); Roy Haynes (drums).

First released in 1964, IT'S TIME was one of several albums the alto saxophonist Jackie McLean recorded just after having served a six-month jail sentence for narcotics offenses. Supported by a sympathetic rhythm section, including pianist Herbie Hancock and drummer Roy Haynes, McLean's playing is exploratory, but never tentative, and on cuts like "Snuff" his tone is often harsh and cutting. Trumpeter Charles Tolliver and Hancock are both given ample solo space, with Tolliver acquitting himself particularly well on the edgy "Revillot."
