Movie Description Aliens searching for plutonium for their disabled spacecraft take over the bodies and minds of the residents of a small California desert town in this updated remake of the 1953 sci-fi classic. Based on a story by Ray Bradbury.
Synopsis A crew of aliens crash-land on our humble planet, damaging their spaceship in the process. In order to go unnoticed, the crafty creatures assume the forms of some of the local townspeople, by "borrowing" their minds and bodies. All goes well -- until a photographer who witnessed the initial descent grows more and more suspicious....
Film Notes Aired originally on the Sci-Fi Channel January 27, 1996.
Despite the "II" in the title, this film is actually a remake of the 1953 science-fiction film "It Came from Outer Space."
Additional cast: Jonathan Carrasco and Dawn Zeek.
Director Roger Duchowny helmed over 50 episodes of the 1970s TV series "The Love Boat" -- which starred Lauren Tewes.
Screenwriters Ken and Jim Wheat are brothers. They also scripted "The Birds II: Lands End."
