Album Notes Recorded at Crack House Studios, New York, New York. The debut album by producer/Svengali Irv Gotti is a murderous collection of gangsta rap. It packs some heat courtesy of a host of guest appearances by, among others, the legendary polyrhythmic rhymer Ja Rule, and the less well-known but no less talented bad-girl rapper Charli Baltimore, whose appearance on "No One Does It Better" is full of the rough-edged, switchblade-sharp phrasing that marks a skilled gangsta practitioner. Helped by an intriguing mix of new and seasoned talent, including Ashanti and one Jennifer Lopez, Gotti takes us on a wild ride through the seamy underbelly of an already dangerous genre, with guest artistes such as Black Child on "Ride Wit Us" and "O.G." providing a somber soundtrack. The quality of tracks here is such that it seems like Gotti's under constant self-inflicted pressure to better himself. "1 Hearse, 2 Suburbans" is a likely contender for the baddest entry, though in its detached yet intimate portrayal of thug life the Ja Rule-assisted "Gangstafied" is the most well rounded cut here. IRV GOTTI PRESENTS THE INC is proof positive that, if he wants it, a career on the other side of the mixing desk is Gotti's for the taking.
