Album Notes
Personnel: Patrick O'Hearn (keyboards, synthesizer, bass, percussion); Warren Cuccurullo (guitar); Mark Isham (trumpet).
Recorded at Factory Ruins and Studio Ultimo, Atlanta, Georgia.
All tracks have been digitally remastered.
Patrick O'Hearn's last recording for Private Music, INDIGO sees him flexing his creative muscles to embrace a plethora of new genres: the refrains of classical music, darkwave ambient, and ethno-tribalism all crop up throughout. Aided by former Missing Persons guitarist Warren Cuccurullo on guitars and atmospheres, and trumpeter Mark Isham, O'Hearn has concocted his most expressive and variegated album to date.
Interspersed amongst his usual gorgeous electronic haikus are moments of high drama and introspective intrigue, made real via O'Hearn's lustrous synth patterns, lively sampling and provocative production, which renders Isham's already vivid trumpet lines even more focused and concise. But a somber air hangs over this recording, an darker feel that O'Hearn has failed to exploit until now--and expertly so. The synthesist's adaptive abilities hold him in good stead via INDIGO's muted, though brilliant, tone colors.

Industry Reviews
Picked by critic John Dilberto as one of the 10 best albums of 1992.
