Movie Description Based on a true story, two U.S. Cavalry soldiers find themselves at the center of controversy and moral quandary when they are ordered to slaughter four hundred horses. The military has military upgraded to tanks, and the horses are no longer needed, but rather than kill the horses, the men mutiny and make a desperate drive for the border of Canada.
Synopsis In 1934, the U.S. army has decided to eliminate its cavalry forces in order to modernize in preparation for a possible war with either Germany or Japan. In one sleepy Southwestern base, five men with a history of insubordination receive orders to shoot the remaining 400 horses in their unit. Believing that their honor as cavalrymen is at stake, they leave on a wild, 2000 mile escape ride to deliver the horses to freedom. But a mechanized army unit pursues them to finish the mission.
