Synopsis A biography of the African American woman and civil rights worker whose refusal to give up her seat on a bus led to a boycott which lasted more than a year in Montgomery, Alabama., On her way to school, a girl named Marcie boards a mysterious bus that is filled with riders who seem totally unaware of her presence. As the trip progresses, Marcie learns the life story of Rosa Parks, the African-American woman who refused to give up her bus seat for a white man, thus setting off the Montgomery Bus Boycott--one of the most important events of the American Civil Rights Movement.
