Synopsis Johnny Damon gives his version of the miraculous 2004 season in which the Red Sox overcame their famous "Curse" and whipped the New York Yankees in the World Series. In addition to an account of that climactic event, Damon looks back at a childhood spent traveling the world as the son of career army father and a Thailand-born mother, the family's eventual move to Orlando, Johnny's realization that his particular set of talents were perfect for a ballplayer--and the beginning of his career when he was drafted by the Kansas City Royals. His journey from there to the Red Sox (via Oakland), and his exploits both on the field and off, provide a lively narrative, in the course of which he tells all (or most) about his sex life (awesome), his famous hair (he claims it's "a Samson thing"), his fellow teammates, and the sheer joy of playing baseball.
