Industry Reviews Gr 2-4 These introductions to ancient Greece and Rome present information in a question-and-answer format. Double-page spreads include a large, full-color illustration; two or three related questions and answers; and small cartoons with captions that provide more details and sometimes humorous anecdotes. The texts are descriptive and easy to understand. Sections cover everyday life, customs, religion, government, famous people, military life, etc. One minor error in Romans the author presents a story about the holy geese that lived on Capitoline Hill and how they warned citizens of an enemy attack by quacking. Otherwise, these titles are eye-catching grabbers that entertain and may inspire readers to move on to further reading about ancient cultures. Not enough information for school reports, but good material for browsers. Cynthia M. Sturgis, Ledding Library, Milwaukee, OR Lopate
