Robert Culp and Bill Cosby played two secret agents masquerading, respectively, as a tennis player and his trainer in this 1960s TV series. The show wisely capitalized on the spy/espionage boom sparked by the James Bond movies, and it also broke some new ground during its brief tenure on NBC. I SPY turned Cosby into one of the first African American actors to gain a lead role in a TV show, and the far-flung location shoots were unprecedented for television productions of the era. The mixture of comedy and drama, played so well by Culp and Cosby, has given the show an enduring appeal, and this collection includes every episode from the first season of I SPY.
