Although the Rollins Band has issued several solid studio albums during their career (HARD VOLUME and THE END OF SILENCE come immediately to mind), the group was always best heard on the concert stage, which explains why the group issued numerous live albums. TURNED ON proves to be one of the best, as Hank and the boys let it rip through a raging, 15-track set. The only drawback is that the CD treats all the selections as a single track, so you can't skip to specific songs (perhaps a not-so-subtle message from the band that you should listen to TURNED ON in its entirety). Featured are such highlights as "Do It" and "Out There," plus a pair of tracks that would later turn up as studio versions on the group's next studio album (and arguably finest hour) two years later, 1992's THE END OF SILENCE--"Tearing" and "You Didn't Need."
