If Ron Sexsmith had grown up listening to Paul Simon's GRACELAND, he might not sound dissimilar to Brett Dennen, who blends carefully constructed, poetic lyrics with sunny, funk/African-inflected grooves (Femi Kuti even turns up on one track). His third album finds him moving further into that groove, leaving a little of his former wordiness behind, and striking a nice balance between intellect and from-the-gut locomotion.

Industry Reviews
For those still enthralled by the lyrical twists and midtempo folk-rocking of 1972, this record will be manna from heaven.

His clear, melodic voice and easy-like-Sunday-morning compositions are both benign and comforting. -- Grade: B+

3 stars out of 5 -- 'Make You Crazy' is a jubilant rave-up with Femi Kuti on vocals, while the quiet ballad 'So Far From Me' is perfect for a dorm-room make-out.
