Album Notes Personnel includes: Steve Swallow (bass); Lyle Mays, Bob Moses, Sheila Jordan, Steve Kuhn, David Liebman. HOME contains music by bassist/composer Steve Swallow to poems by Robert Creeley. This is a wonderful album of Robert Creeley poems set to music by Steve Swallow. Sheila Jordan sings the poems, accompanied by Swallow on bass, Steve Kuhn on piano, Bob Moses on drums, David Liebman on saxophones, and Lyle Mays on synthesizers. The ensemble plays with a warm familiarity and Swallow's writing has a mellifluous ease that mirrors the rhythmic underpinnings. This heart-felt project stems from Swallow's college years, when he discovered the poet Creeley. The title song has only nine words in it, but its simple literary construction is a sturdy home for Swallow's well-crafted music. Liebman's soling is a perfect counterpoint to Jordan's vocals.
