Synopsis
A most unusual new student who loves to be the center of attention entertains her teacher and fellow second graders by telling absolutely true stories about herself, including how she got her name., Gooney Bird Greene is the most unusual second grader at Watertower Elementary School--she dresses uniquely and her lunches always include an amazing surprise. When the teacher announces that it's story time, the entire class has only one request--have Gooney Bird Greene tell a story about her life.
