Details

Synopsis Adam Davies follows up his witty THE FROG KING with a novel about a disgruntled young academic who, after his father suffers a stroke and becomes paralyzed, must confront his estranged upscale family. The protagonist, Jack, has never forgiven his tyrannical ex-marine father for the death of his younger brother, "Lemon," but he slowly comes to a clearer understanding of his father, his family, and himself. Though the content of the novel is more somber than that of his previous work, GOODBYE LEMON zings along with Davies's up-tempo prose, fierce humor, and stylistic spunk.

Industry Reviews "Bitter, smart, and soaked in dark humor....[A] story that soars on the same jet stream of inspired wordplay and literary tics that made THE FROG KING a dazzling read." (05/08/2006)
