Synopsis
A picture-book version of O. Henry's classic story "The Gift of the Magi". In this version, set in the American south, Rebecca and Fenton Vondell are a loving couple who live in a rundown trailer park. As Christmas approaches, Rebecca and Fenton secretly make sacrifices to raise money to buy the other the ideal gift, little knowing that the gifts they plan to purchase will be useless without what the other is forced to sell off in order to raise money. Color illustrations accompany the text., Based on the classic story in which a husband and wife sacrifice treasured possessions in order to buy each other Christmas presents.
