Following up his guest appearances on high-profile 2003 albums by Missy Elliott and Wyclef Jean, Jamaican star Elephant Man presents GOOD 2 GO, a 20-track dose of pure dancehall reggae. Like his contemporaries Sean Paul and Wayne Wonder, Elephant Man knows how to get the dance floor packed, starting off with the giddily infectious "Pon de River Pon de Bank." Delivered with a proudly thick accent, EM's lyrics can glide lightly over the beats, as on "Signal de Plane," or blast away like a machine gun on "Bun Down/Stop Hitch."
Despite Elephant Man's rap connections, he largely steers clear of straight-up hip-hop--with the notable exceptions of "Who We Are," a stand-out track featuring Killah Priest, and "Jook Gal (Wine, Wine)" with Bonecrusher, Lil Jon, and Kiprich--opting instead to stay true to his dancehall roots. A guaranteed party-starter, GOOD 2 GO lives up to its name and is certain to win the energetic Elephant Man plenty of new stateside fans.

Industry Reviews
3 stars out of 5 - [B]obbling ruffneck ragga with a smattering of rap hybrids and pop crossovers.
Uncut (02/01/2004)

...Famous for his acrobatic, off-the-wall performances...the gruff-voiced platinum blond translates that live exuberance to CD....GOOD is unruly and infectious... - Rating: B+
Entertainment Weekly (12/05/2003)

3 stars out of 5 - ...[Jamaica's] answer to Busta Rhymes....Elephant Man knows how to sink a hook into even the most hectic backing track...
Rolling Stone (01/22/2004)
