Movie Description
Two films starring Hong Kong's biggest male stars--Andy Lau, Anthony Wong, and Tony Leung--are collected in GODS, GANGSTERS, AND GAMBLERS. The first is DON'T FOOL ME, a role-reversal comedy with Lau and Leung as old buddies who meet up again after many years. Leung is a businessman with a potentially fatal brain condition, and Lau is an unsuccessful gangster. The two decide to switch places, with Leung looking for excitement in what could be his final days, and Lau looking for something he can finally do well. But a series of comic misunderstandings meet both when then undertake their new roles. Also included is the gangster drama TRIAD AFFAIRS (aka CENTURY OF THE DRAGON). Here Lau plays a crime boss struggling to keep his gang together while beset on all sides. Not only are a faction of younger criminals trying to oust him from his position of power, but he also discovers that some of his most trusted associates are actually undercover cops. TRIAD AFFAIRS was one of the films that inspired the popular INFERNAL AFFAIRS trilogy starring Lau and Leung.
