Album Notes This is a hybrid Super Audio CD playable on both regular and Super Audio CD players. Recorded at Dimension Sound Studios, Boston, Massachussets. This is a hybrid Super Audio CD playable on both regular and Super Audio CD players. Blues flash George Thorogood's first album is a low-budget, no frills affair that, for whatever reason, sounds pretty much like his '80s major label hits, which is a tribute to the consistency of his musical vision. Although he's no Eric Clapton, Thorogood's a pretty good guitarist, though he's not much more than just an okay singer. But that doesn't really matter, because this is the blues as garage band party music. It's designed to be cranked out a top volume at some place where beer is plentiful, and subtlety or deep feeling would be more or less extraneous. Thorogood does, however, have excellent taste in covers; here he has infectious rowdy fun with songs by Elmore James, Bo Diddley, and John Lee Hooker, whose "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer" he more or less appropriated as a theme song.
