Masterpiece Theatre presents this adaptation of Daphne du Maurier's classic romantic adventure. The fetching Tara Fitzgerald stars as Lady St. Column, a bored British aristocrat who returns to her rural home of Cornwall to find that it has become overrun by pirates. She discovers one of these pirates, Jean Aubrey (Delon), hiding on her land and, finding him a dashing and handsome fellow, Lady St. Column soon begins a whirlwind romance with him. However, after being swept up in the passion and adventure of life as a pirate's mistress, Lady St. Column finds herself contemplating leaving her children and stuffy husband, and beginning a new life with Jean.
