Movie Description A beleaguered restauranteur (Reno) promises his terminally-ill wife she'll be interred in the same cemetery as her child, but the boneyard is so close to capacity that he finds himself on a frenzied mission to keep everyone else in their bucolic Italian village alive. Meanwhile, his wife prepares her younger, sexier sister to replace her as the family matriarch. An awkward marriage of black comedy and family drama.
Industry Reviews "...[A] gently, offbeat comedy..." Premiere - Jill Bernstein (07/01/1997)
"...Reno is as watchable a character as there is on screen; Ruehl is a national treasure..." Los Angeles Times - John Anderson (07/11/1997)
"...It's a small, sweet film...and the actors find it such a relief to be playing such goodhearted characters that we can almost feel it..." Chicago Sun-Times - Roger Ebert (07/25/1997)
