Details

Movie Description This is the first of the famous Astaire-Rogers musicals, about an American bandleader who romances a pretty South American socialite on two continents. The highlights are a production number on the wings of a moving airplane, and, of course, the overall chemistry between the two stars, which we were soon to see much, much more of.
Film Notes Songs include: "Music Makes Me," "Carioca," "Orchids in the Moonlight," "Flying Down to Rio."
"Flying Down to Rio" marks the first screen pairing of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers.
The Turner videocassette is part of the "RKO Collection."
Industry Reviews "[The film] springs alive for 'The Carioca,' possibly the duo's sexiest dance." -- Grade: B Entertainment Weekly - Gregory Kirschling (11/10/2006)
