Now an adult, he (Nesbitt) has the opportunity to take vengeance against his brother’s murderer (Neeson), who has never forgiven himself for his past sins.
Industry Reviews 3 stars out of 5 -- "[T]his one triumphs over its limitations by taking the darkness in a dark subject seriously. FIVE MINUTES OF HEAVEN is a film that lingers in the mind as a result..." Box Office - Ray Greene (08/20/2009)
"[A]n intriguing, what-if take examining both sides of the Northern Irish conflict....It's a tense, evocatively shot and designed time capsule." Los Angeles Times - Gary Goldstein (08/28/2009)
"[The film belongs] to the rare class of movies that try to encompass both sides of the conflict....Director Oliver Hirschbiegel films the proceedings with a minimum of fuss..." -- Grade: B A.V. Club - Sam Adams (08/20/2009)
"A forceful Neeson and an even more intense Nesbitt both show their stuff..." -- Grade: B- Entertainment Weekly - Lisa Schwarzbaum (09/04/2009)
