Synopsis A clever young shepherd boy uses his wits to gain a fortune for himself and his sister from a haughty rich man., A picture book retelling of an Ethiopian folktale. Alemayu, a young shepherd boy, accepts a challenge from his master--he will spend a night in the mountains with only his clock for protection and warmth. Alemayu survives the night, but when he goes to collect what his master promised him, a sack of money and four cows, the master refuses. Will Alemayu and the other servants find a way to make the master keep his promise? Illustrated with watercolor paintings.
