LANTERN HILL: When her mother is stricken with polio, a young girl is sent to live with her grandmother. Cut off from her former life, she has trouble adjusting to her new one. THE WILD PONY: A widow deals with the resentment her young son feels toward his new stepfather in this tale of love and family. When 12-year-old Christopher's mother Sarah marries the man who accidentally killed her husband, the young boy, out of resentment seeks comfort in the unconditional love from a wild pony. When Sarah refuses to let her son have any more contact with the animal, her new husband, seeking approval from Christopher, decides to purchase the pony against her wishes. The drama unfolds when the pony increasingly becomes the link between trust and family togetherness.
