Synopsis
In EXILE, Richard North Patterson explores the Arab-Israeli conflict with a gripping courtroom thriller. Lawyer David Wolfe is on his way up. Engaged to a beautiful woman, he has a successful San Francisco practice and is considering a bid for congress. But all of that changes when David’s ex-lover Hana Arif turns up in his office. Hana is a Palestinian activist, and has been accused of masterminding a suicide bombing that recently killed the Israeli Prime minister. She claims she was framed, and she wants David to represent her in court. A Jewish man himself, David is conflicted about taking such a case, but finds he cannot say no. He agrees to help her, and travels to both Israel and Palestine in search of answers. In doing so he throws himself into the center of the world’s most heated political conflict, completely jeopardizing both his career and impending marriage. Will he be able to find the truth, while still holding on to his old life?
