Synopsis
A picture book biography of the often lonely and painful childhood of Eleanor Roosevelt. Shy and awkward, Eleanor was an obvious disappointment to her mother but was well-loved by her father who, unfortunately, was unreliable and eventually left the family. Raised primarily by her Grandmother Hall, Eleanor finally found self-confidence when she was sent to boarding school in England. This book ends with her graduation from that school and includes an afterword that tells of Eleanor's many achievements as a First Lady and a humanitarian. Illustrated with color paintings., Presents the childhood of Eleanor Roosevelt, who married a president of the United States and became known as a great humanitarian.
