Synopsis
After shocking the elegant garden party by using a bad word, Elbert learns some acceptable substitutes from a helpful wizard., While attending a fancy garden party with his parents, young Elbert overhears a bad word. Later, when he is accidentally hit on the foot with a croquet mallet, the word comes flying out of his mouth. The other party guests, especially his parents, are shocked. Will Elbert be able to remove the bad word from his vocabulary? Watercolor, gouache, and colored pencil illustrations accompany the text.
