Album Notes The Swing/Lounge Revival may be passé, but that matters little to the Royal Crown Review. They preceded the trend with their blend of swing-era pop and jazz, old-style Hollywood kitsch, alt-rock, zany humor, and spirited live presentation. Their first disc since 1994's GREETINGS FROM HOLLYWOOD, EL TORO is a six-song mini-album with a couple of RCR's distinctive, ebullient originals and a nifty cover of Neil Diamond's tribute to male paranoia, "Solitary Man." Whenever life and/or music seems too stuffy, these Royals earn their Crown as kings of neo-swing, and offer listeners a tidy tonic.
