Movie Description
The first silent film released with vitaphone music and sound effects. The classic swashbuckler is presented with its opening night program of rare shorts.

Credits
Cast:Bambi
Director:Alan Crosland Jr.

Synopsis
Don Juan, a roguish ladies' man meets his match in the vivaciously evil Lucretia Borgia. But his heart is stolen by the virtuous Adriana Della Varnese. The lovers must escape the Borgia's wrath and battle more than a few swordsmen before they can make a romantic getaway.

Film Notes
Silent with original Vitaphone musical score.

Co-produced by The Vitaphone Corporation.

Additional cast: John Roche, Willard Louis, Jane Winton, Helena d'Algy, Lionel Brahm, Nigel de Brulier, Helen Lee Worthing, Phyllis Haver, Sheldon Lewis, Emily Fitzroy, Yvone Day, John George, and Phillippe de Lacy.

The actual film does not credit either Dean Meredyth or George Hollingshead with co-writing the script.

Fred Cravens, the fencing master, doubled for John Barrymore in certain reverse and long shots. However, in most cases, Barrymore did his own stunt work.

The film is based on the famous poem by 18th century romantic poet George Gordon, Lord Byron.

Released theatrically in New York City August 6, 1926.
