Album Notes The Devil Makes Three: Cooper McBean (vocals, acoustic guitar, electric guitar); Pete Bernhard (vocals, acoustic guitar, slide guitar, tambourine); Lucia Turino (vocals, upright bass). Personnel: Jessica Cook (vocals); Andy Lentz (fiddle). Additional personnel: Keith Cary (lap steel guitar, harmonica). Most traditional bluegrass groups don't spin stories about guys who put together "Power Point presentations about the girl he wanted to do." But such is the rabble-rousing nature of DO WRONG RIGHT, which is highlighted by the Devil Makes Three's banjo-based country strumming and, well, devilish streak--no doubt a product of self-proclaimed influences like Iron Maiden. And on songs like "Poison Trees," they nail their formula to perfection, achieving what the Dave Matthews Band might have been had they stripped their global folk of its sterile flourishes.
Industry Reviews CMJ Filled with odes to drinkin' pills and all-around mischievous behavior, their third studio effort is all about good boys being bad in the best way.
