Synopsis
In this standalone thriller, Lisa Scottoline introduces a Philadelphia judge whose life spirals into crisis after a mere six months on the job. When Richard Marz sues TV producer Art Simone for grabbing Marz's pitch about a quartet of computer-savvy lawyers and turning it into a hot cable TV series, novice federal judge Cate Fante hates declaring in favor of obviously-in-the-wrong Simone, and says so. She hates it even more when Simone is murdered, Marz commits suicide, and Marz's corrupt cop pal exposes the sordid details of Cate's sex life.
