Weathering countless lineup changes and break-off factions over its 30-plus-year history, Amon Duul (and its main splinter group Amon Duul II) is one of the most storied bands in the history of Germany's Krautrock movement. The U.K.-based incarnation of the group (sometimes refered to as Amon Duul U.K.), featuring original members John Weinzerl (guitar) and Dave Anderson (bass), released four studio albums during the `80s under the Amon Duul name. Originally released in 1989 and featuring ex-Hawkwind front man Robert Calvert, DIE LOSUNG drops some of the lysergic mania of ADII's early `70s efforts for a more straight-ahead prog- and hard rock-influenced sound.
