For most American listeners, Shirley Bassey is best known as the singer of songs associated with James Bond movies (especially the theme song for GOLDFINGER). But in her native Britain, "Bassey The Belter"--nicknamed for her powerful wall-of-sound style--is well-known as an interpretive pop singer. On this remix collection, many of the electronic dance scene's most notorious DJs and mix-masters have a go at de- and re-constructing Bassey's best tracks. These sonic sculptors include Mantronik, Nightmares On Wax, Groove Armada, and Propellerheads. This REMIX is not for old-school fans of unadulterated Bassey, but club denizens will find a lot to groove to here.
