Movie Description Shot through with Southern sass, the debut season of DESIGNING WOMEN introduced the world to four of the finest, funniest sitcom characters in TV history: the strong-willed entrepreneur Julia Sugarbaker (Dixie Carter); her ex-beauty queen sister, Suzanne (Delta Burke); the sly, recently divorced Mary Jo Shively (Annie Potts); and the aw-shucks small-town girl Charlene Frazier (Jean Smart). As the four principal players in a small Georgia-based decorating firm, the women took care of business--and each other--with grace, strength, and buckets of wit. This collection includes every episode from DESIGNING WOMEN’s 1986 season on CBS, as well as a reunion special featuring the original cast and creator Linda Bloodworth-Thomason.
Industry Reviews "At its core, DESIGNING WOMEN was a relaxed workplace comedy like TAXI and BARNEY MILLER, crossed with a bristling social-issues comedy in the mold of ALL IN THE FAMILY and MAUDE....It was a standout in its time, and it still retains much of its snap." A.V. Club - Noel Murray (06/03/2009)
