Movie Description Two young lovers, an American writer and Parisian gentleman, fall in love on the eve of World War II, and together they push the limits of sensuality in search of the "Delta of Venus" - the secret paradise of inner desires. Based on the writings of Anais Nin.
Synopsis In this adaptation of Anaïs Nin's erotic novel "Delta of Venus," a young American female writer undergoes a sexual awakening when she travels to Paris in 1939.
While struggling to get her stories published, Elena meets Lawrence, a successful American expatriate novelist who represents everything she wants in a man. The two begin a passionate romance, but he must suddenly leave her to go on a book tour of the United States.
Left broken-hearted and without any money, Elena agrees to write explicit stories for an anonymous collector of erotica. In the process of creating these tales, she gets to act out some of her wildest fantasies.
Meanwhile, Nazi troops prepare to invade France, threatening her already fragile situation.
