For a fashion model, Carol Alt turns in a surprisingly solid performance as a cold-blooded femme fatale who returns to haunt her ex-boyfriend in the stylish thriller "Deadly Past." After killing her millionaire husband, she lures her reluctant former beau - an inexplicably wealthy bartender, still on parole from his last tango with her - into cheating on his new love (Dedee Pfeiffer) and disposing of her old man's corpse. Despite a few plot holes, the handsome cast and rich imagery elevate this one above the norm. Alt fans beware: unlike la petite Pfeiffer, the suddenly shy runway strutter uses a double for the passionate parts.
